Phil, Beverly and family, we are so sorry we just found out about your mom’s passing. Phil and Violet were our neighbors on Nassau and Matanzas street for decades and remember them always having the best Christmas parties! When we built our home I thought oh how lucky am I to have such a sweet Sicilian neighbor, she thought Carlos’s hit the lottery by finding a nice Sicilian girl and married her, my husband knew her long before we were married, Phil and Carlos grew up across the street from each other and Phil was the best man in our wedding. What a fun loving, classy dresser she was even after she retired she would go out dressed up just to get her nails done. Their home has been demonlished and new homes went up but this neighborhood was never the same, shouting hi across the street , checking on family members, those were the days that a neighborhood was a true neigherbood. The first time I met Vi, she embraced me with a beautiful smile, extended both of her arms towards me, and hugged me. I can never forget the spark in her eyes when she spoke about herself, her kids, her grandkids, or her friends. She was such loving and caring towards all of us. Her love for sparkled jewelries and that happy face to talk about how she liked them and how it matched her outfit or purse were one of my many favorites. May God rest her soul in peace and place her in the highest place in heaven. Her memories will remain with us forever. We love you.
