Thelma M Greco's Obituary
Greco, Thelma M. (Cona) 87, passed away suddenly on Sunday, Dec. 10th and was welcomed into the loving arms of her Father in Heaven. She left a legacy of love to all who knew her and was the Matriarch of our family. Thelma was a devoted, full-time Wife, Mother, Grandmother “Nana” and Great-Grandmother. She was born in Newburgh, New York and grew up in Ybor City, Florida. Thelma graduated from Hillsborough High School, attended the University of Tampa and was in the 1949 Latin American Fiesta Court. She took great joy in being involved in her grandchildren’s lives and became an avid Florida Gator Fan and Coast Guard supporter. As a gracious host, and master in the kitchen, no one ever left her house hungry or without an extra plate of food. Thelma is remembered as a beautiful, gentle and wise woman with a vibrant smile and loving heart.
She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph Cona and Mary Comparetto Cona, husband Dr. Angelo L. Greco and son Michael A. Greco. She is survived by her son David A. Greco (Joanie), and daughter Doreen Greco Ide (Fiancé, Vince Pardo). Grandchildren David “DJ” Greco, Angelo “Trae” L. Greco III (Sheri), Alexa M. Ide & Stacey Detwiler. Great-grandchildren Beau Greco, Haley & Oliva Detwiler. A Visitation will be held at Boza & Roel Funeral Home 4730 N. Armenia Ave, Tampa, Florida, on Thursday December 14, from 5 to 8 pm with a service at 7 pm. Gathering on Friday December 15, from 9:30 to 11am with a processional to follow to Myrtle Hill Memorial Cemetery. www.bozaroel.com
