It's been two years since you passed, but I still think about you every single day (as many others do too). I remember I was on Vacation, about to check out of my room to return home, and saw an Instagram story from another close friend of ours saying Sam had passed away. In that moment, time completely stopped and I was completely frozen and was in shock. This has only occurred once in my lifetime before, and it was when I got the news my baby sister had complications during birth and did not make it. This morning when I woke up, I got a reminder of a picture I took right before seeing the Instagram story, and started reminiscing about all the amazing times I had with my close friend/brother Sam. All the classes we took together (basically all of them), all the library study sessions we had, the times we went to the bike shop for volunteering for our class, our HotWorx gym sessions, and a lot more. I can truly say, these times were unforgettable, and I will always cherish the memories forever. His kindness and loveability were/is something I have never seen again. He was a person who had not one bit of hate in his heart, but strived to make everyone feel welcomed and loved around him. I truly apologize for not being there when you most needed it. I would trade anything to be able to. I also believe God is perfect and doesn't make any mistakes, so I choose to believe this was God's plan. I take a piece of Sam in my heart everywhere I go and know he lives through me. Love you my brother!
I also want to mention Betty, Sam's mother. Betty, you have truly been an inspiration for me. You are one of the strongest human beings I have known. I hope to be half as strong as you. I know it must be a daily battle, but know you are not alone. I pray to God every day for your protection and well-being. I will leave my information below for whenever you need anything. Sam was a brother to me, and you, Betty, are also my family.
LONG LIVE THE GREAT SAMUEL LAURO!!
