Rudy Daniel Orta's Obituary
Orta, Rudy D., 77, passed away on April 22, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, Julio and Angelita Orta, and his sister, Arlene Permuy. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Patricia Orta; his daughters, Kathryn Orta and Stephanie Rodriguez; his son-in-law, Albert Rodriguez; his grandson, Brian Rodriguez; and several nieces and nephews.
Born on October 23, 1947, he was a life-long resident of Tampa, FL. Rudy graduated Our Lady of Perpetual Help Academy in 1965 and attended the University of South Florida. Retiring after 50+ years in the printing business, he spent his days caring for his fruit trees and orchids. He was also a dedicated fan of his grandson, Brian, and spent many hours cheering for him from the sidelines at all his youth-athletic sporting events and Jesuit High School football games. Rudy was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend to many. He had a personality that filled the room and never met a stranger – only friends he had yet to make. He will be deeply missed by all.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, May 9, 2025, from 10-11am at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 5225 N. Himes Avenue, Tampa, FL. A Memorial Mass will immediately follow at 11am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Moffitt Cancer Center Foundation (moffitt.org/give) or a charity of your choice.
