Mary Jo Ciccarello's Obituary
Mary Jo Ciccarello, 70, passed away April 13, 2017. She was born in Tampa, Florida on September 13, 1946. She was preceded in death by her father Vincenzo Ciccarello, her mother Antonina Alessi Ciccarello, and her brother Jimmie Alessi Ciccarello. Mary Jo is survived by her nephews Jimmie I. Ciccarello (Vicky), Sam F. Ciccarello (Windy), and her cousins Tony Alessi, Jr., Alfred Alessi, and Tony J. Ciccarello, in addition to her great nephew and great nieces, and other cousins and relatives.
Mary Jo graduated from Tampa Catholic High School in 1966, its second graduating class. She went on to get a degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Tampa, and became a social worker. Mary Jo was loyal, dependable, loving, and giving. She cultivated life-long friendships and was thankful for her monthly lunches with high school friends, a practice initiated after her 50th high school reunion last year, which she was sadly unable to attend. Mary Jo valued family and looked forward to spending time with them. She loved dogs, especially chihuahuas, and when she went to live at an ALF in 2014, her deepest struggle was the necessity of having to give up her beloved chihuahua Nica. Nica would come for monthly visits with Mary Jo, eliciting joy upon Nica’s arrival and tears upon her departure.
Mary Jo will be deeply missed.
