Joseph A. Lala's Obituary
Lala, Joseph A., 66, of Tampa passed away March 18, 2014. Joe was born in Ybor City, Tampa, FL, and was preceded in death by his father Joe Lala, mother Janie C. Hondal, grandparents Sylvestro and Maria Cacciatore, aunts Rosalie Alessi (Tony), Mary Pipitone (Tony) and cousin Joseph A. Pipitone. Joe is survived by his brother Michael Lala (Alicia), Uncle Angelo Cacciatore (Elvia), cousins Tony Alessi, Alfred Alessi, Linda P. Tambuzzo, Mark Cacciatore and many more cousins, life-long friends and his beloved Walde and Rubie Tuesday. Joe graduated from Jefferson HS class of 1965. Joe went on to become one of Tampa's all time great musicians most famous for the rock band Blues Image founded in Tampa and the famous song "Ride Captain Ride". Joe will be remembered for his big heart, love of family, and the joy and laughter he brought to us all. A celebration of Joe's life will be held at 6 PM on Sunday, March 23, 2014. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM at Boza and Roel Funeral Home, 4730 N. Armenia Ave., Tampa, FL. Monsignor Laurence Higgins officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in Joe's name or the charity of your choice.
