Jose A Gibert's Obituary
With deep love and gratitude, we celebrate the life of our beloved father, who was born in Havana, Cuba, and came to the United States in 1959 in search of a better life for his family. He was forever grateful for the opportunities this country gave him and dedicated himself not only to learning the language, but also to embracing and supporting the ideals of freedom and opportunity that America represented. His love for both the country of his birth and the country that welcomed him remained strong throughout his life. During a time when there were talks of liberating Cuba, he proudly joined the United States Army in service to the values he held dear.
Above all else, he loved God and his family. He was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend whose strength, guidance, and unconditional love shaped the lives of all who knew him. His greatest joy came from caring for those he loved and making sure his family always felt protected and supported.
He also had a tremendous love for animals, especially the many pets who became his cherished four-legged children. We cannot remember a time when our home was without multiple dogs and cats, and at one point even chickens and roosters. His compassion extended to every creature he welcomed into his life, and his home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and love.
We were truly blessed to have him in our lives and find comfort in knowing that he remains with us always. We take peace in believing he is now in heaven reunited with the family who passed before him, along with all of his beloved dogs waiting faithfully by his side.
Until we meet again, we love you always and forever.
I’d like the memory of me to be a happy one.
I’d like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done.
I’d like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways,
Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days.
I’d like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun;
Of happy memories that I leave when life is done.
In Lieu of Flowers, the family ask that you donate to an animal rescue of your choice in dedication of Jose, for his love of animals.
