Fr. John Jazwiecki's Obituary
JAZWIECKI, Fr. John, 82, died unexpectedly on October 9, 2010. He was born in Toledo, Ohio March 28, 1928 to Mary and John Jazwiecki. After service in the military, Fr. Jazwiecki studied for the priesthood in the Society of Mary. He was professed as a Marist September 8, 1958. He studied philosophy and theology at Catholic University in Washington and was ordained a Marist priest, February 2, 1964 at the National Shrine in Washington, DC. Fr. Jazwiecki's assignments included teaching at Chanel High School in Bedford followed by Marist administration work in Washington. Fr. Jazwiecki also served in parishes in Atlanta, Cleveland and New Orleans. Fr. Jazz's most recent ministry has been at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Tampa. He continued to serve part time ministry at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church since 1999 even though he had retired. Fr. Jazwiecki is survived by his brother, Joseph (Virginia), niece, Lois (Ronald) Adamski and nephew, Richard (Mary) Jazwiecki. At 7PM on Friday, October 15, 2010, he will be brought to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church for visitation with a prayer service at 7:30PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10AM on Saturday, October 16, 2010 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the Marist Cemetery plot in Atlanta, GA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church or the Society of Mary Fund at 1711 E. 11th Ave., Tampa, FL 33605.
