James Nguyen Mann's Obituary
James Nguyen Mann of Tampa, Florida, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones. Born in Vietnam, he emigrated to the U.S. as a young boy along with his mother and younger sister during the war, and adopted by his father. He attended Hillsborough High School and earned his Bachelor of Pharmacy at the University of Houston. He was a trusted and beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend to so many. On June 1, he married the one whom his soul loves, Phuong.
A creed he lived by and evident to all those who knew him well:
“Beg the Lord to save you — all you who are humble, all you who uphold justice. Walk humbly and do what is right.” Zephaniah 2:3.
James is survived by his wife Phuong, parents, Walter and Chau, and siblings, Vinh, Mung, Vang, Kim, Mary and Judy, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Fill not your heart with pain and sorrow,
But remember me in every tomorrow…
Remember the joy, the laughter,
the smiles,
I’ve only gone to rest a little while.
Although my leaving
causes pain and grief
My going has eased my hurt
And given me relief.
So dry your eyes and remember me,
Not as I am now, but as I used to be.
Because I will remember you all
And look on with a smile.
Understand in your hearts
I’ve only gone to rest a little while.
