Hector Vila Sr's Obituary
Hector Vila Sr. 87 was called by the Lord after a long illness.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Martha Vila. He was a very loved man who exemplified love and devotion to his family and country. He was the endorser of the Vila Brothers Park being the 4th of seven brothers who served in the United States Military.
He is also survived by his son Dr. Hector Vila Jr (Claire); daughter, Desiree Vila Nelson (David K. Sr); grandchildren, Jonathan Vila (Nicola), Carmen Beavers (Jonathan), Valerie Obesso (Daniel), David K. Nelson Jr. (Brooke), Dr. Daniel Hector Nelson (Sarah), and McKenzie Nelson (Jimmy Rush); 13 great-grandchildren, Ben, Sam, Vivian, Jude, Eloise, Elena, Amelia, Bonnie Claire, Taylor, Beau, Owen, Camille, and Caleb; two brothers, Denio Vila (Elvira) and Tony Vila (Nancy, deceased); and 2 sisters, Giselda Guggino (Vincent) and Ramona Coffield (Wayne).
A graveside Service will be held at 11:30 AM Friday, December 28 at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell with military honors. Visitation will be held from 2-3 pm at St. Lawrence Catholic Church with a Funeral Mass to follow at 3pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Vila Brother’s Park, c/o Armory Gardens Civic Association, P.O. Box 4946 Tampa, FL 33677 or the VA Hospital.
