Ma, if only you knew how much I miss you. I miss the sound of your shuffling feet walking down the hall. I miss you standing by the door way asking “ what are we gonna have for dinner.” And I know I should say this, I miss our daily arguments…lol
The say time heals but the pain of missing you is sooo deep in my heart I think it will.

A very special time visiting with my Tía Carrie & cousins. Enjoyed a delicious lunch from the Columbia Restaurant.
It was a blessing to spend time with family while we talked about life and our journey through it.
As we all have many beautiful memories of the times we spent together, let’s us hold them dear to our hearts.

So many beautiful memories, as a child living in Ybor City we spent lots of time visiting Tía Carrie and Tío Pal. When my sister attended elementary school across the street from their home on Massachusetts, she would wait for me to walk from Jr high to pick her up. We would visit have a delicious snack and leave to walk to our home.
Memories as a child stay with you forever especially when you feel the love.
We moved to Orlando, still visiting every time we went to Tampa.
I was so happy to get together with Tia Carrie and my cousins when they came to visit me in Clearwater. It brought back so many wonderful memories. Spent the day talking about family and life, so blessed to have spent time with my my Tia .

Orchid Nicole (Nikie) Wilkes lit a candle in memory of Caridad Lemus
A great memory I remember was faking sick from school and coming over to Abuela’s house. We would get there mid morning and Abuela would be in the kitchen getting Pals breakfast ready and making coffee on the stove. She would ask if I was ok and then laugh at me and tell me I was faking it. She would ask if I wanted one of her famous grilled cheeses. This wasn’t a normal grilled cheese it took time and effort. She would toast the bread first then she would cut the cheese off a block. Then pan fry it with butter. We would talk for a bit around the table. Before she moved on to prepping for dinner. She was always in the kitchen making sure everyone was fed. I’m guessing that was her love language making sure everyone was happy with a full belly.
