Adrian Kendall Kilbride's Obituary
Adrian Kendall “Ken” Kilbride (74) passed peacefully at home on January 4, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Ken was born in Boston, Massachusetts on March 22, 1943 to Adrian F. and Mary Grace Kilbride. His family moved to Tampa, Florida in 1954, where he resided most of his life, apart from short stays in Washington and Germany. The Kilbride Family was large, with Ken having six siblings: Mary, William, Adrienne, Peter, Christopher and Kathleen. He is survived by his siblings Adrienne Decker, Chris Kilbride and Dr. Kathleen Kilbride. Ken enlisted in the Army in 1960 and served in the 82nd Airborne Division and was honorably discharged in 1967. He married his high school sweetheart, Peggy Ann Martinez, on June 30, 1963, and they were married until her passing on September 21, 2011. Ken and Peggy had three children: Mark, Mary Frances and John. Ken was a Hillsborough County Sheriff for a brief period, and opened and operated Ken Kilbride Insurance in Brandon, Florida for many years. He eventually found his niche as a financial planner, and worked and retired from MONY. Ken is survived by his three children, as well as six grandchildren (Jourdan, Reilly, Maddison, Cooper, Samson and Finley) and one great-grandchild (Jude). Ken was fortunate enough to find love for a second time and married Donna Skultety on April 27, 2013. Ken and Donna lived life to the fullest by attending University of Florida football games, driving across the United States in their motorhome visiting all their children and grandchildren, and traveling to Canada, Europe and Australia. He is survived by his wife Donna and her daughters (Laurie and Sheri). He loved history, music, movies, reading, attending sporting events, traveling and spending time with his family. Ken was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, brother, and uncle, and he will be missed dearly by everyone.
The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to his friends, neighbors, physicians, nurses, HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Sarasota, Florida Home Health Care, VITAS (hospice), and the Department of Veterans Affairs.
