Charles Toney Flight
Kenny and I served in the 82nd Abn together in 1961. I first met him in Jacksonville at the Army recruiter center where we took our oath of loyatly to USA. we went through basic training at Ft Benning and Jump school at Ft Bragg. Kenny was always dropping out of the evening run that we did after a day in jump school. I always ran the end of the formation and would run back and make him stand and run.
Bet you didn't know, Kenny had a horseshoe scar on the top of his head. Yep, we got into a fight with some locals at a bar in Fayetteville.
After we were discharged, Kenny and I drove his 1962 Chevrolet to Jacksonville, met with some others army friends, drank a beer together and he left for Tampa. Few years later I met with Kenny and his son who raced mini motorcycles.
The last time I saw him was in Tampa when Ias fleeing a huricane that came across Miami, Tampa and Panama City.
A HELL of a man. Airborne all the way!!! Rest in peace my BROTHER! Chuck Flight
P.S. We were discharged June 22nd, 1964, unless he reenlisted and didn't know. My Army SN is RA14771156, and His should be 10-15 numbers close to mine. WE enlisted together, served different units and was discharged together.
