Manuel Arniella
June 2, 1926 - June 22, 2022
Manuel Arniella passed away peacefully in his home on June 22, 2022, in the presence of his family. Born in Tampa, Manuel was the son of Manuel and Aurora Landeira Aniella, who immigrated from the northern Spanish Regions of Asturias and Galicia in the early 1900's. As was his father before him, Manuel was the owner proprietor of Latin American Service Station at 1023 E Columbus Drive, built in 1926. More than an honest business, it was a gathering place where people of all walks of life gathered to spend time in friendship. Manuel attended Robert E Lee elementary School, George Washington Junior High, and graduated from Hillsborough High School. He served in the Armed Forces in WWII, and was honorably discharged after his only brother Celestino was killed in France. In June 1949 he married Felina Cueto, the woman who was to be the center of his world even after she passed away in 2006. He cherished her throughout their lives together, and continued to do so for all of his life. Golf was his favorite past time, and he spent many happy hours in the company of good friends on the golf course, particularly when his foursome won. Predeceased by his wife Felina, and his eldest daughter Debra (Harold) Lopez, Manuel is survived by his daughters Susan (Scott) Kelly and Cecilia (Bob) Weber. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Jennifer (Alberto) Santana, Courtney (Anthony) Sierra, Hunter (Jennifer) Kelly, Katherine (Victor) Bouvier, Chelsea (Joseph) Forehand, and Grayson (Amanda) Weber, and 5 great grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews, and lifelong friends. We will be eternally grateful, to Yaima Sarduy Rivero, for giving Manuel unfailing and loving care, and for bringing joy to all of us in his final days. The Arniella family is deeply thankful for the excellent care provided by LifePath Hospice of Tampa, whose staff were, without exception, both kind and professional, and made this long and sometimes difficult journey more bearable. In particular, we wish to thank Christy VanderMolen,RN, of whom Manuel and his daughters grew so very fond, and Yesenia Carbonell Diaz CNA, for her cheerful and caring attention. In lieu of flowers, please contribute to Hospice LifePath Hospice of Tampa.
