Brian Zipter
Area Managing Partner, Operations
Brian is a stand out patriot who proudly served our country in the United States Marine Corps. He is passionate about being an American and serving veterans. Brian’s commitment to Boza & Roel Funeral Home is personal as his young daughter Brittany, who lost her battle with cancer is interred at our sister cemetery Sunset Memory Gardens. In 2016, he lost his 27-year-old son Stephen as well, who is also interred at Sunset. Brian has turned his adversities in life to fuel his unwavering desire to help families going through loss. Brian’s leadership has brought incredible upgrades and beautification to Boza & Roel. He has been married for 37 years to his lovely wife, Patty. They had two sons and a daughter, and 3 grandchildren.

Michael Shorter, Jr., serves as Location Manager at Boza & Roel Funeral Home. With more than 21 years of experience in funeral and cemetery service, he is dedicated to providing compassionate care while leading his team with professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to excellence. Since joining Boza & Roel in 2026, Michael has been honored to continue the funeral home's longstanding tradition of serving Tampa families with dignity and respect.A St. Petersburg native and Certified Funeral Service Practitioner, Michael was drawn to funeral service because of the difference a steady, caring presence can make during life's most difficult moments. He believes every family deserves to feel that their loved one is the most important person in their care, and he works to ensure each family receives personalized attention, thoughtful guidance, and the highest level of service.At Boza & Roel, Michael oversees daily operations and supports the directors, counselors, and staff who care for families across generations. He considers it a privilege to help steward a funeral home that has been a trusted part of the Tampa community since 1928.Outside of work, Michael enjoys spending time with his wife and children, fishing, discovering new restaurants as a self-proclaimed foodie, and traveling whenever he has the opportunity.

Transplanted from Illinois to Florida in 2012, and has been with Boza and Roel since 2014. Enjoys being of service to the families of Tampa.
