FOREVER IN OUR Hearts
Zina Leah Brannon was born on May 27, 1953, in Belle Glade, Florida, and was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Berbener Knight. She graduated from Hillsborough High School in 1972 while also helping to look after her five sisters and three brothers. She went on to earn an Associate’s Degree in Business.
Soon after graduation, she met the love of her life, Joe Brannon Jr., and they were married on January 3, 1986, spending 54 loving years together. Together they had three children: Lakesia Wright (Charles), Damon Brannon (Tracy), and Ursala Brannon. She retired from the City of Tampa Recreation Department after 20 years. Zina was also preceded in death by her siblings: Elmina Hedman, Loretta Kirkpatrick (Charles), and Brother Willie Knight.
Zina is survived by her husband, Joe Brannon Jr.; her daughters, Lakesia L. Wright and Ursala N. Brannon; her son, Damon J. Brannon, and wife Tracy; her son-in-law, Charles E. Wright Jr.; her sisters and brothers, Verbener Joyner (Stanley), Edie Thomas (Lorenzo), Randolph Knight, Denise Knight, and Joseph Knight; her grandchildren, Charles L. Wright (Natalia), Usillia N. Wright, and Davina S. Hill (Joshua); her great-grandchildren, A’Niyah J. Wright and Aiden A. Wright; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; and three special friends: Harriet Guzman, Babara McGill, and Pamela Henderson.
