William Nieves' Obituary
William Nieves, 57, of Tampa, Florida was called to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 8, 2021 and leaves behind his loving wife of 39 years, Diana M. Nieves, three sons and five grandchildren.
William was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico and spent 20 years in Hoboken, New Jersey where he met and married the love of his life, Diana M. Nieves, and they began building their life and family eventually settling in Tampa, Florida. William worked for The City of Tampa, Parks and Recreation, for 25 years where he built many friendships during his career as a Welder and Fabricator.
He loved his family more than life itself, fishing, and the beauty of all that Arizona revealed to him as well as anything related to new technology, tinkering around, home projects, and always making sure every need was filled for his family which is where his heart truly found happiness. William’s grandchildren were the shining stars in his life, he lived to simply see that they all were happy and well-loved and our memories will always be treasured. He has made such a positive impact on so many people throughout his life and the world was a better place because of all the passion, respect, commitment, and sacrifice he gave to so many without expectation.
He was predeceased by his son, Christopher S. Nieves and his father, Pedro S. Nieves. He is survived by his loving wife, Diana Nieves, three loving sons, William D. Nieves and his wife Jenna of Temple Terrace, Florida, Christian L. Nieves of Tampa, FL. and Larry Perez and his wife Peggy of Tampa, FL. his five grandchildren Alejandro D. Nieves, Kristalynn M. Nieves, Christopher M. Nieves, Diannette Perez, and Destiny Perez, his loving mother Crusita Nieves of Virginia, sister Rosalie Knapp and her husband Dan Knapp of Virginia, and his brother Hugo Nieves of New Jersey. He was the pillar of our family always leading by example with love, compassion, guidance and strength and he will be missed more than words could express. Rest peacefully our King we love you!
