Mr. Victor Julius Pellegrino's Obituary
PELLEGRINO, Victor Julius, 60, a native of Tampa, died peacefully surrounded by loving family members on June 5, 2009. He is survived by his parents John (Johnny) and Amelia (Mimi) Pellegrino; his wife Brenda Sue; his three children Stephanie (David) Sweeney, Victor B. (Andrea) Pellegrino, and John C. Pellegrino; his sisters Diane (JD) Guerra and Irene (Brian) Matye; three grandchildren, Christina, Kaelyn, and Meghan Sweeney; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins; and also his devoted secretary, Liz Quirk. Mr. Pellegrino was a graduate of University of South Florida and Vermont Law School. He has served as lead counsel in approximately 1,000 DUI jury trials dating back to 1978. He was a founding member and current Dean of the National College For DUI Defense, Inc. He published and lectured on numerous DUI issues, trial tactics, and ethics for Hillsborough and Pinellas Counties. He was the recent recipient of the Herbert G. Goldberg Criminal Law American Inn of Court Jack Edmund Award. He was one of the most respected attorneys in the legal community because of his passion for the law and unwavering integrity. Mr. Victor Pellegrino's dedication and devotion to his family and faith will remain in the hearts of many and an inspiration to all. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 11th from 5 to 8 pm at the Boza & Roel Funeral Home located at 4730 N Armenia Avenue where a Catholic Wake Service will be held at 7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday at 1 pm at St Lawrence Catholic Church with The Very Reverend Father Thomas Morgan, VF. pastor officiating.
