Urbano Acosta's Obituary
Urbano Acosta, 93, of Tampa, FL passed away peacefully surrounded by family on 10/27/24. Originally from Havana, Cuba, he lived in Tampa for the last 72 years. He was born to Urbano and Aurora Acosta, who preceded him in death.
Urbano met his soulmate and love of his life in 1959, Annabelle, and after a short engagement married, and began their amazing, inspiring journey together. Urbano is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Annabelle Maggio Acosta, sons Ronald Urbano Acosta (Julio Lao), Randall Acosta (Liliana), grandsons Randall Anthony Acosta (Brooklyn Calautti) and Matthew Spencer Acosta, great grandson Roman Anthony Acosta, and many loving nieces and nephews.
He was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School (1959). Urbano spent his early life in Tampa working for Garcia & Vega and Gradiaz, Annis, & Co. cigar factories, and then for Reynold’s Aluminum for 33 years until he retired in 1999. He loved working with his hands and building gadgets in his garage that often made his family nervous, but always seemed to do the job in the end. He worked long hours, but always had time to play catch, teach his family to drive, and watch a ball game or school event. Urbano loved nothing more than being a husband, father, grandfather, and recently a great grandfather to his loving family.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested to make dontaions to the:
