Troy Dean Thomas' Obituary
Troy Dean Thomas passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at St Joseph’s hospital hospice. Troy was born April 1, 1962 in Tampa to Armando Thomas and Jennie Sierra Thomas. He was predeceased by his father Armando Thomas, his brother, Armando Thomas, II, his daughter Kali Thomas and his cousin like a brother, Scott Hernandez. He is survived by his daughter Tara D. Thomas, his granddaughter Kali Harrison, his mother Jennie Sierra Somers, his forever fiancée Paula O’Rourke, his brother Sean Thomas, his sister Tina Westbrook, and many, many loving cousins, nieces, nephews and other family members as well as a myriad of close friends. Troy was beloved by all who had the good fortune to know him. He was a business man and entrepreneur who owned his own moving company, operated as captain of his own charter fishing boat, and ran a salvage business. He was a handyman who could fix or repair just about anything. Troy was a long-time active member of Club UNICO, a Tampa social and charitable organization which provided college scholarships to underprivileged children. More than anything, Troy was a warm, generous and loving man who “never met a stranger”. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him and most of all by his family. Be at peace, Troy. You will forever live in our hearts.
