Tom Wright's Obituary
Tom N. Wright, 74, of Tampa, FL and most recently Shreveport, LA, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2026. Born in Norway, Tom moved to Florida as a child to accompany his Mother and Stepfather who was stationed at MacDill Airforce base. Tom attended Plant High School and remained in Tampa for more than 60 years, working and raising his family before relocating to Shreveport to be with his wife, Cuc Tran.
Tom was an proud member of Lake Madalene Methodist Church and a trained Stephen Minister. He had a gift for grief counseling and found great joy in caring for others, in his later years.
Tom was preceded in death by his mother Anne Duggar and stepfathers Leroy Wright and Charles Duggar. Tom is survived by his sisters, Virgina Gremley (Kurt Gremley) and Eva Conlon (Brad Conlon) and their children; Jared Gremley, Kesha Bayer and Corinne McGee. And by his daughters April Rosen (Michael Rosen) and Carly McKay (Ryan McKay) and his grandchildren, Ava Rosen, Aidan and Marina McKay.
Tom was happiest surrounded by family, spending time at church, out on a golf course or fishing with friends. He ended most phone calls with “Who loves you”? You did Tom and we love you, you will be greatly missed!
A celebrated life service will be held at Lake Magdalene Church in Tampa, Florida on Friday July 24, 2026 at 2:00PM. In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to two organizations that Tom frequently donated to; St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or The Wounded Warrior project.
