Tom F Ferraro's Obituary
Tom F. Ferraro passed away on Monday, September 23rd with his family by his side. He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Josie, 4 daughters Deborah, Linda and Brenda Ferraro, and Angela Kranjec, who happily took care of him until the end, 4 grandchildren Edward and Darin Ferraro, Alyssa Fowler (Marvyn) and Francesca Figueroa (Charlie), and 6 great- grandchildren.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents Vincenzo and Francisca Ferraro, brothers Phillip, Frank and Joe Ferraro, and nephew Vincent Ferraro.
Tom was a 1948 graduate of Hillsborough High School, and served in the United States Army for 2 years.
Tom worked as an auditor for the State of Florida Sales Tax Division until he opened his own accounting practice. He eventually built and owned a strip center on Martin Luther King and N. Boulevard.
He served as treasurer of the Ybor City Chamber of Commerce and Civic Organization for several years, as well as served on the board for the Lighthouse for the Blind.
Tom loved music and dancing and had his own band, Tom F. Ferraro and his Orchestra, in which he played the drums and performed at many weddings and events in Tampa.
He was proud to be one of the original founding members of the Krewe of the Knights of Sant Yago, bringing in many of the 75 charter members, serving as the 5th King and also as the Baron.
Tom loved life and most of all loved his family. He enjoyed backyard pool parties with all of them. He was so loved and will be missed by all of us.
The family would like to thank Hospice Pink team Carol Samuel and Janet Sellers for all the love and compassion they showed to Tom and his family.
Following Tom's wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial.
