Thu Thi Tran's Obituary
Thu Tran was just 7 years old when the Vietnam War began in 1965. By the time the war ended, she had become a nurse and helped deliver more than 200 babies — bringing life and hope into the world during difficult times. After the war ended, she was even required to train for any future ones, practicing with a wooden gun.
In 1995, Thu married Khanh Le and moved with him and their son Tuan Le to the United States, where their daughter Christine was soon born.
In 1998, Thu tragically lost her husband to a heart attack, caused by his serving with the US in the war, leaving her to raise two young children alone in a strange country far from home.
For the next five years, Thu worked tirelessly — seven days a week as a nail technician and hairstylist — sacrificing everything to provide for her family. Along the way, she met Earl, who reminded her to slow down sometimes and “smell the roses.”
Above all else, Thu was a devoted mother who raised two wonderful children, Le and Christine, with endless love, resilience, and strength. Her kindness, sacrifice, and unwavering love will forever live on through the family and friends who were blessed to know her.
During a time like this, we realize how deeply one life can touch so many others. Thu fought every battle in life with quiet strength, endless sacrifice, and love for her family. Her kindness, resilience, and beautiful spirit will continue to live on through everyone blessed enough to know her.
