Thomas Michael Cueto, age 74 passed away peacefully on March 29th, 2025, at 6:15am, with his loving daughter, Tracey, at bedside. Born on Aug 12, 1950, in Tampa, Florida to Louis T Cueto and Nellie Guadarrama. Raised in the Catholic Faith, he attended Sacred Heart where he was altar boy, Memorial Junior High and Hillsborough High School, as a graduate of the 1968 class. He furthered his education at Miami Dade College and received an undergraduate degree.
After graduating college, he entered the Army National Guard in 1969 and became a staff sergeant until his honorable discharge in 1975. His civilian occupation was a crane operator with the Operating Engineers Union where he remained until he became owner of the Magnolia Tavern in South Tampa. The Magnolia Tavern was a Gasparilla legacy, where thousands flocked yearly for this annual tradition. The Magnolia was later sold to a church to enable their renovation and expansion. Once the Magnolia Tavern was sold, retirement was on the horizon. As resident of Davis Island and patron to the once known, Island’s Club, he lived life to the fullest and was a man of immense humor and wit who cherished time with family, friends and his favorite cold Budweiser.
