Theresa Caruso's Obituary
CARUSO, Teresa, 96 died peacefully at home on Monday, April 24, 2016. Born in Ybor City, daughter of Sicilian immigrants, she attended Hillsborough High School and worked at the Navy Yard during World War II. After the war she married Manuel, a remarkable partner in life, and together they raised three children. She was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. She was married in the church and was active in many church groups and activities. Theresa was a much loved and admired woman, who generously opened her heart and home to anyone in need of a family dinner.
Theresa was pre-deceased by Manuel her husband of 58 years, son Manuel Jr, sister Angelina, brother Anthony, and niece Annie. She is survived by daughters Carol Caruso (David Kirby), Rosalind Mills (Lee), grandchildren Jason Caruso (Candace), Vanessa and Andrea Mills and great grandchildren Thomas and Kahlan, and other cherished family members. She will be remembered for her grace, open heart, and joyful spirit.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 27 at 11:30 AM. The family will receive visitors starting at 11 AM at our Lady of Perpetual Help, 1711 E 17th Street, Tampa. Entombment will follow at Centro Asturiano Memorial Park, Tampa.
