Teresa Rosalie Jurado's Obituary
Teresa Rosalie Jurado, a Tampa native, passed away on January 17, 2025 at the age of 89 with her family at her bedside.
Teresa was born in May of 1935 to James and Mary Leto. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School and married Jaime Jurado in 1957. Together they ran the family electrical contracting business—Electric Machinery Company.
Electric Machinery Company grew into Electric Machinery Enterprises (EME) and Teresa became its Treasurer, taking on duties as comptroller. By 1996, EME had become the largest minority owned employer in the State of Florida with over 600 employees.
Teresa and Jaime lived in the Riverside Heights neighborhood for most of their lives. Teresa was a devout Catholic and a generous supporter of Sacred Heart Academy, Jesuit High School, Academy of the Holy Names and St. Lawrence Catholic Church.
Teresa was predeceased by Jaime, her husband of 66 years, her parents James and Mary Leto and her brother Anthony and his wife Orsela Leto. Teresa is survived by her children Kurt (Janeen), Kathy Jurado Muñoz (George) and Keith (Crystal). She also leaves behind seven grandchildren, Alecia Emidy (Matt), Austin (Meaghan), Jessica Franco (Aeon), Jaime, Gino, Manuel Muñoz and Mario Muñoz and great-grandchild Avery Emidy.
