Sylvia C. Barrera's Obituary
Sylvia C. Barrera, 81, passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2019, 5 days short of her 82nd birthday.
Sylvia was born and raised in Tampa, FL to the late Sam Cagnina II and Lydia Fraga Cagnina. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ignacio Barrera Sr of over 53 years. Also, her brother, Sam Cagnina III, aunts, Mary Giglio and Josephine Suarez, eight additional aunts from her mother’s side, a granddaughter, Yesenia Acosta and multiple cousins. She and her husband have owned several convenient stores and cafeterias throughout the Tampa Bay area from 1975 through 2015. She was a hard worker, good friend and family oriented. She was and is unforgettable to everyone who has met her.
She is lovingly remembered by her children; Ignacio Barrera (Lucy), Mario “Ronnie” Palaez (Debbie), Lourdes Barrera (Heriberto), Lydia “Lee” Rosario, Julio “Macho” Barrera (LaJuanda) and Edna “Pupi” Reyes. Beloved Grandchildren: Ignacio “Ina” Barrera, (Jennifer), Andro “Boli” Barrera, Christian "Poochi" Barrera, Armando "Mandi" Acosta (Holly), Nicole “Nicky” Walker, Santiago “Piry” Rodriguez, Jose “Adibo” Menendez, Christian "Papo" Rosario, Alaina Barrera, Gavin Barrera, Natasha ”Chuchi” Reyes, Reynaldo “Tin-Tin” Reyes and Alex ”Nano” Reyes, plus 13 great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, nieces, nephews and several cousins throughout Florida, Georgia and New York. She will truly be missed.
