Mr. Steve P. Cona Sr.'s Obituary
Cona, Steve, P., Sr., 87 passed away on December 13, 2014. Steve was an Ybor City native and a lifelong resident of Tampa. He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II. He was a contractor, master carpenter and owner of Steve Cona and Sons custom home builders for 61 years. "Nano" was the patriarch of a large family who loved and respected him beyond words. He was predeceased by his parents, Pietro and Maria Cona, his sister Thelma, brother-in-law, Tony Mangione and sister-in-law, Josie Cona. He is survived by Sarah, his loving and devoted wife of 68 years, brother Tony, sister-in-law Mary, her husband and his best friend, Sam Collura, and his four sons, Steve, Jr. (Judy), Rick (Denise), Kenny (Cindy) and Ronnie (Mariza), 9 grandchildren, Steve III, Kenny II, Erica Guzman, Lauren Cavicchi, Taryn Menendez, Ricky, Jr., Brittany Massey, Kayla Miller and Ronnie, Jr., and 9 great grandchildren. The pallbearers are all of Nano's grandsons and Michael Guzman, Jeff Cavicchi, Tony Menendez and Tim Miller. The family will celebrate his life and receive friends at Boza & Roel Funeral Home, 4730 N. Armenia Avenue on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 from 10 AM to 11:30 AM with the memorial service beginning at 11:30 AM. The interment will immediately follow at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park. Flowers will be accepted or you may wish to contribute to a charity of your choice.
