Socorro Pulgarin's Obituary
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Socorro Pulgarin, who died on Friday, March 14, 2025, at the age of 101. Born on July 8, 1923, in Virginias, Antioquia, Colombia, Socorro lived a long and meaningful life, marked by resilience and a deep love for her family and heritage.
Raised in Colombia, Socorro later moved to New York, where she began a new chapter of her life. She eventually relocated to Tampa, where she worked and lived with her son, Amado, and daughter-in-law, Fidelina Cardona. Socorro enjoyed life and loved spending time with her friends and family, never missing a birthday or a chance to celebrate those she loved. She remained deeply committed to her family and the values that shaped her upbringing.
She is survived by her children, Amado Cardona and Luis Enrique Cardona; her grandchildren, Edwin Cardona and Diana Wittorf; and her great-grandchildren, Jackson Cardona, Mariela Cardona, Sebastian Wittorf, and Olivia Wittorf. A Mass will be held in her honor at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 5225 N Himes Ave, Tampa, FL 33614, at 11:00 AM, followed by burial at the Garden of Memories Cemetery at 12:30 PM.
