Sinavel Alvarez's Obituary
ALVAREZ, Sinavel, “Sindi”,77, native of Tampa, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 3, 2015. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 44 years Joseph John Alvarez, and her parents Manuel and Caridad Robaldo. She is survived by her children; daughter, Doreen Alvarez and son, Joe Alvarez, two brothers, Donald and David Robaldo, and many cousins, nieces and nephews; whom she adored.
Sindi attended Thomas Jefferson High School and graduated from the University of Tampa with a Master’s Degree in Education. She started at Thonotosassa Elementary and spent the majority of her teaching years at Anderson Elementary. This opportunity blessed her with many colleagues and co-workers that would end up becoming her lifelong friends. She was passionate about the difference she made in the lives of the many children who passed through her classroom doors.
After retiring, Sindi was able to pursue her love of travel, going on many trips abroad and at home, which allowed her regal personality to shine through. While at home, she passed her time reading and challenging her mind with Sudoku puzzles. As the family’s matriarch she loved planning and hosting all the family get-togethers. Her door was always open to family and friends.
Recently, another favorite pastime became her weekly “café con leche” social hour with many friends, old and new. Sindi made friends easily with her positive attitude, optimistic spirit as well as her beauty, style and grace. All who were fortunate enough to know her were impacted by her loving, caring ways and will cherish the beautiful time they had with her on earth.
The family will receive friends for visitation Friday, July 10, 2015 between 5 and 8 PM at Boza and Roel Funeral Home, 4730 North Armenia Avenue, Tampa. Private graveside services will be Saturday, July 11, 2015 at Garden of Memories Cemetery. Sindi loved her grandogs, Alfie, Jack and Max. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Animal Coalition of Tampa, are greatly appreciated.
