Sarah I Cona's Obituary
CONA, Sarah I, passed away July 11, 2016. Sarah was a West Tampa native and lifelong resident of Tampa. She graduated from Hillsborough High School in 1945 and in 1946 married the love of her life, Steve Cona. They were married 67 years and together raised four sons. The taught them the true values of a loving family, “The Italian Way.” Sarah dedicated all of her life to her family and friends. Known to her grandchildren and great grandchildren as “Nana”, she showered them with love and shared all of her cooking, baking and cleaning skills with her granddaughters. She was predeceased by her parents, Angelo and Josephine Ippolito, husband Steve, Sr, sister Mary Collura and brother Frank Ippolito. She is survived by her brother Joe Ippolito, brothers–in-law, Anthony Cona and Sam Collura, her four sons, Steve Jr (Judy), Rick (Denise), Kenny (Cindy), Ronnie (Mariza), nine grandchildren: Steve Cona III, Kenny Cona II, Erica Guzman, Lauren Cavicchi, Taryn Menendez, Ricky Jr, Brittany Massey, Kayla Miller, Ronnie Cona Jr, and ten great grandchildren. The pall bearers are her four grandsons, great grandson, Steve Cona IV, Jeff Cavicchi, Michael Guzman and Tony Menendez. The family will celebrate her life and receive friends at Boza and Roel Funeral Home, 4730 N Armenia Ave, on Friday, July 15, from 10:30 am – 12pm, with a service beginning at 12. Interment will follow at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park. Flowers will be accepted or you may wish to contribute to a charity of your choice.
