Sara Perfecta Diaz Alvarez's Obituary
ALVAREZ, Sara Perfecta Diaz, 85, left this earth on Thursday, August 20, surrounded by her loving family. Sara was born on June 16, 1930 in Tampa, Florida to Jesus and Laudina Diaz. A graduate of Hillsborough High School, she went on to become a pioneer in the field of electrolysis, a profession she practiced for nearly 60 years. A two-time cancer survivor, she never backed down from a challenge and lived her life to the fullest. Sara is survived by her daughter, Donna (Edward) Perez, granddaughter, Larissa (Andrew) Rydin, great grandchildren, Brandon and Addison, and loving fiancé’ and caregiver, Robert Rhea. She was preceded in death, by her husband of 45 years, Urban Alvarez, and parents, Jesus and Laudina Diaz. The family will receive friends for Visitation, Monday, August 24, 2015 between 10 and 11 AM at Boza & Roel Funeral Home, 4730 North Armenia Avenue, Tampa. Services will begin at 11 AM at the funeral home, followed by Interment at Garden of Memories Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
