Sam Puleo's Obituary
Sam Puleo, 85, of Tampa, died peacefully of natural causes on July 8, 2024 surrounded by his family. He was born on December 1, 1938 to John and Martha Saladino Puleo. He was a graduate (1957) of Jefferson High School. He served in the US army from 1961 to 1963. He retired in 2001 after working 32 years with the Florida Department of Agriculture division of petroleum services. He enjoyed mostly spending time with his family. His fondest memories were his earliest years living in West Tampa on Cherry Street, surrounded by all family, relatives and friends nearby. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Martha Saladino Puleo; sister, Caroline Puleo Parrino, and grandson, Roman Edward Puleo. Sam is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Mary Helen Puleo; children, Sam Puleo JR. (Ann Marie), David Puleo (Erin), and John Puleo; grandchildren, Sam Puleo, III., Elena Liccini and Lauren Puleo; nephews, Anthony Parrino and Joseph Parrino and niece, Joanna Parrino Caranante. Sam will be laid to rest at the Woodlawn Cemetery of Tampa with a private family service. A celebration of life will be announced and held at a future date and location. In honor of Sam Puleo, donations can be made to Moffitt Cancer Center in memory of his grandson, Roman Edward Puleo.
