Salvatore Salemi (Sam)'s Obituary
SALEMI, Salvatore (Sam), 89, native of Tampa, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, December 6, 2015. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 68 years, Grace (Dolly) Salemi, parents, Lee and Lena Salemi, brother Frank Salemi and sister Josephine Pulido. He is survived by his children, Sandra Iler (Billy), Sam Salemi, Jr. (Janet), Patty Russo (Paul), 6 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. In 1944 Sam And Dolly eloped, and in 1945 he was drafted and served as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army during WWII. After working at Ferman Chevrolet as a bodyman for 20 years, he left and established Salemi’s Body Shop in 1966. He enjoyed playing baseball, trips to Las Vegas, and playing dominos. Sam loved his family and was greatly respected by all that knew him. The family will receive friends for Visitation Thursday, December 10, 2015 between 6 and 7:30 PM followed by a service at 7:30 at Boza & Roel Funeral Home, 4730 North Armenia Avenue, Tampa. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made in his name to a charity of your choice.
