Rufino Lemus' Obituary
Rufino Lemus, Jr., age 93 of Tampa, passed away on February 11, 2025.
He was born on November 3, 1931, in Tampa to Rufino Lemus, Sr. and Ernestina Noriega Lemus. He was a lifelong resident of Tampa and grew up in Ybor City.
He graduated from Jefferson High School, served in the Army during the Korean War, he retired from Wonder Bread bakery after 27 years, and was a long-time member of the Tampa Optimist Club supporting the Children’s Home orphanage.
He enjoyed spending time with his grandsons, great grandchildren, neighbors and friends, vacationing with his family, restoring classic cars, and watching western movies.
Rufino is survived by his daughter Desiree (Bob) Gustafson, grandsons Joe (Cassandra), Alex, Bobby, Evan (Kaydee), and Jacob; great-grandchildren, Joe Jr, Jonathan, River, Bodhi, Bobby III, Adelyn, Mila, June, and Rori. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Mary Nancy Lemus, son Ernest Lee Lemus, and brothers Angel Lemus Sr. and Victor Lemus. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews that he was close to, and beloved friends and neighbors.
Funeral service Monday, March 17, 11:30 am with visitation from 10:00 am – 11:30 am prior to service at Boza and Roel Funeral Home, 4730 N Armenia Ave, Tampa, FL 33603.
