I just found out Ruben passed away. I was a former cowork . He performed at shows I had organized.

Cheryl, you did a wonderful job putting together Ruben's Celebration of Life. The video slideshow was the best I've ever seen, and the many heartfelt tributes made us all smile, and sometimes shed a tear.
For my part, I'm eternally thankful for the years Ruben and I shared onstage and the moments of musical magic that happened.
Most of all, Sharon and I will miss our friend.
I'm sure Ruben's spirit was smiling at the beautiful tribute you provided.

As I watch this video I am struck by how many smiles there are! Ruben seemed to be on the verge of laughter in many pictures! At least that's my take cause whenever we played music or hung out he was happy and ready to laugh that infectious laugh of his! Ruben had personality, talent and so much more... Ruben was a wonderful childhood friend and together we created lifelong memories that I will always treasure. His family became dear friends with me and my family that goes on to this day. My prayers and deepest condolences to Norma, Derek, Yvonne and Cheryl - my hope is that with time, the pain of this loss will be gradually replaced with a smile and warm feelings of treasured moments with him.

A lifelong friend and family by choice, Ruben gifted us with his extraordinary musical talent and contagious laugh. He had us dancing with his guitar riffs and serenaded us with his soulful voice. The travel adventures we shared in California, Cayo Costa and Anna Maria Island will bring comforting memories to our family. He was a light in our lives that we now carry in our hearts and memories. I was so lucky that you and Cheryl crossed my path on this journey through life.I always loved our interaction as it was sort of a battle of the wits, Although not a competition we always tried to make the other laugh harder.
