Mr. Roy Gonzalez Medero's Obituary
Roy Gonzalez Medero died at his home in Treasure Island on December 29, 2008 after a long illness. He is survived by his wife of 26 years Patti M. Kearns-Medero, 2 sons, LeeRoy Medero of Brooksville and Richard Medero of Tampa; 2 stepdaughters, Nancy Beaudoin and Susan Amann both of N. Brookfield, Massachusetts ,3 grandaughters and 6 grandsons, 4 great-grandchildren and also 5 step-grandchildren in Massachusetts; 4 sisters, all in the Tampa area Estrella Lopez, Ida Noguez, Hortense Buntyn, and Frances Gonzalez. He was predeceased in death by his first wife of 39 years Rose Salgado, his grandchild Mark Medero and most recently this year by his son Dr. Mario Medero. Roy was educated in Tampa schools and was also a 1969 graduate of University of South Florida. He held a Masters Plumbing License and was employed for many years by H.G. Gonzales Plumbing Co. as a supervisor. He served in the U. S. Army in World War Two. He was active for many years with the Optimist Club of West Tampa often serving as an officer in the club. He attended St. Alban's Episcopal Church on St. Pete Beach. Memorial contributions may be made to the Boys and Girls Club of West Tampa if you choose to do this. Funeral services will be held at Boza & Roel Funeral Home, 4730 Armenia Ave. Tampa On Friday January 2 at 2 PM where the family will also receive friends one hour prior to the service. lnterment will follow at Centro Espanol Memorial Park Cemetery.
