Ronaldo "Rony" Arturo Barrera's Obituary
BARRERA, Ronaldo "Rony" Arturo 61 of Tampa passed away peacefully on September 16, 2016. He moved to Tampa from Puerto Barrios, Guatemala a port town similar to Tampa in culture and liveliness. Rony loved being with his family, spending time with his friends, and going fishing off of the Sunshine Skyway Bridge.
For the last 13 years of his life Rony worked in the facilities division of the Hillsborough County Sheriffs Office serving his fellow coworkers and community at large. Prior to that, he spent over two decades at the iconic Columbia Restaurant, working his way up to Bar Manager.
Rony is survived by his wife of 33 years, Lois Barrera, his two kids Alicia and Daniel, and numerous brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and cousins in Guatemala. He will be truly missed by many close friends all around Tampa Bay.
