Roland Chacon's Obituary
CHACON, Roland E, 76, passed away August 11, 2012. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Virginia "Gini" Wagner Chacon, son Roland A, Chacon (Mary Ellen), daughter Lisa Chacon (Jeff), grandchilIdren Michael, Roland Jr. and Angelica, sister Rose Chacon Garcia and several nieces. nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his mother Rosario F. Chacon. Roland was born December 13, 1935 and raised in Ybor City. A lifelong resident of Tampa, he was a graduate from Jefferson High School, a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and earned a bachIelors degree from USF. With 48 years of dedication and service in the field of Fire Rescue, Roland retired from Tampa Fire Rescue as District Chief and HillsborIough County Fire Rescue as Fire Inspector. He also served as instructor at the Florida State Fire College in Ocala, training officer for Pasco County Fire Rescue and worked as a realtor. Throughout his career he mentored and trained many individual in the Fire Rescue field. He was a member of the A.W. Windhorst Masonic Lodge #185 and a member of the Tampa Egypt Shrine. Roland was loved and respected by all of his family and friends. In lieu of floweres memorial contributions can be made to the charity of your choice. A private family memorial service was held.
