Robert Portugues' Obituary
Robert (Bobby) Portugues Sr., age 75, of Tampa, FL, died peacefully in his sleep at home in the early morning of February 13, 2024.
He was born on August 17,1948, in Ybor City, FL to Mary and Angel Portugues. He attended Hillsborough High School Class of 1966. He was a retired letter carrier with the US Postal Service and a renowned handyman and DJ in the greater Tampa Bay area.
Bobby had many remarkable accomplishments. He owned multiple businesses in his lifetime, including a cabinet shop with his father, a mobile DJ business and a remodeling business. He was active in antique car clubs in his younger years and always had a passion for classic cars. Bobby loved hunting, fishing, being outdoors by the beach, and cheering on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He always enjoyed music and loved to dance. Bobby also took a lot of pride in participating in his children's sporting events while growing up. Despite the many things Bobby has done in his life, he always said that his proudest accomplishment was his children.
Bobby is preceded in death by his father Angel, his mother Mary, his brother Henry, and his daughter Stephanie.
Bobby is survived by his brother Angel, his wife Donna, his children Michele, Dawn (John), Lizaida, Alexandra, Robert Jr., and Anthony.He is also survived by his Grandchildren Maria (Joel), Anna (Jonathan), Tyler and Mariah, multiple great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held Friday, February 23, 2024 at 10:00am at Boza & Roel Funeral Home in Tampa, FL.
