Robert Gonzalez's Obituary
Robert Gonzalez, 91, of Tampa passed away on November 26, 2022. He was born on July 28, 1931, in Tampa, FL to the late Octavio and Catharine (Didio) Gonzalez. His mother later remarried Armando Flores Sr., who became a father to him. Robert was a graduate of Jesuit High School and continued his education at Spring Hill College. He served in the U.S. Army and worked as a Job Developer at the Florida State Employment Service for over 30 years until his retirement.
Robert enjoyed sitting on the beach, watching sunsets, and eating Italian food. In his free time, he liked painting by numbers, listening to Perry Como, watching Lawrence Welk reruns, and watching Notre Dame and Tampa Bay Buccaneers football games. Most of all was the importance of his faith and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his daughters: Suzanne Garcia, Kathryn Hunt (Mark), Roberta Walter (Terry), Loretta Gonzalez, and Nancy Bello; brother, Armando Flores; sister, Frances Flores Caranante; 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Robert was predeceased by his wife, Rose (Lodato) Gonzalez; grandson, Gary Titak Jr. and brother, Gene Flores.
