Mertens, Richard J. Jr., 75 of Tampa passed away on February 7, 2010 at University Community Hospital in Tampa, Fl. He is survived by his wife , Mabel; his sisters, Edith and Virginia of New Jersey and 5 nieces and nephews. Memori Read Obituary
Richard Jr. was a very special man to all of us at Hasan Medical Center. He was always so well organized and on top of things. He reminded each of us on several occasions that he was not Richard Mertens but Richard Mertens Jr. Our prayers go out to Mabel and the rest of his family. He will be greatly missed.
Although I never got to see Uncle Dick very much once he and Aunt Mabel moved to Florida I treasure the memories of our times spent together in New Jersey. I got to stay at their house there on many occasions and always had fun and felt warm and loved. I will miss him very much. My thoughts and prayers and much love are with Aunt Mabel.
