Scott was born on November 12, 1948, in Tampa, FL. He graduated from Hillsborough High School and attended the University of South Florida. He married his wife of 54 ½ years, Maria Julia, in Lima, Peru and was a veteran of the U. S. Navy serving from 1969 -1973. For most of his career, he owned his own paint contracting business, TriStar of Tampa, Inc. and later did independent contracting.
Scott never shied away from volunteering throughout his life. He was a carnival chairman of St. Lawrence Catholic School, was elected President of the Painting and Decorating Contractors of America, (PDCA), and a mentor for Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. Scott was a member of the Krewe of Shamrock and later Krewe of Celts. He enjoyed woodworking, making fine furniture and crafts, fishing at his cabin, and spending time with his family and keeping the 30 plus year tradition of family Friday dinners. You could always count on him for a quirky fun saying and now we no longer have to ask him, “How are you doing?” because we know, he is forever, say it with me, “Finer than frog’s hair!"
