Richard Fidalgo's Obituary
FIDALGO, Richard "Dick", 92, born April 19, 1921 in Chicago IL he passed away April 22nd 2013. A veteran of the US Navy and a 91 year resident of Tampa, FL. He owned and operated the first auto parts store in Tampa, General Auto Supply Inc, and later worked hand-in-hand with his son and grandson at Brian's On-site Recycling until the day he went into the hospital. He was a man of few words. But, those that were spoken were honest, considerate, and more often than not would make you smile, even when you were upset. A graduate of Hillsborough High, all american quarterIback & 3rd baseman. He was an avid Rays fan. But, loved sports of all kinds. Especially if the team was from Tampa. He enjoyed driving, watching tv, and picking up his granddaughIters after school. Know by all as "Grandpa", he will forever be in our hearts and on our minds. He is preceded in death by parents, Baltasar and Estrella; a brother, Joseph (Azucena); and a son, Richard Fidalgo Jr. He will be sincerely missed by his high school sweetheart and wife of 69 years, Olga; children, Brian (Brenda), Cynthia Evans , grandchilIdren, Michael (Guendalina), Stephaney Nieves and Brian Dean; great-grandchildren, Loren & Lei-ana Nieves and Olivia & William Fidalgo and niece's, Inez Colson and Shirley Younglove. There will be a celebration of life at his son's house beginIning Saturday at 1 p.m.
