Ray J. Perez's Obituary
Ray James Perez, aged 58, of Hammond, Louisiana, died on April 9, 2025.
He was born October 30, 1966, in Tampa, FL to Quiciano “Ray” Perez and Rosalie Perez. He attended school at Jefferson High School.
Ray was a hardworking man who served as a district or regional manager for multiple large retail stores. In his free time, Ray enjoyed cooking and could make a gourmet meal from any ingredients. He was nothing if not resourceful. He had a big heart and would give a stranger his last dollar if they needed it. He was a Texans football fan and an avid collector of sports memorabilia. During his life he faced many hardships, but he was a fighter and survivor who defied the odds at every turn. Ray was always making those around him laugh. He was a skillful debater on an array of topics and could run circles around most in a debate. He never met a lawn mower he could not fix and if he didn’t know how to do something he was just one YouTube video away from learning and mastering his task. He will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his children, Anthony Ray Perez (Kristi Perez), Adrian Perez, and his grandchildren, Carter Perez and Harper Perez. He is also survived by his siblings, Frances Ruiz, Lisa Caraballo, Lorenzo Perez, and Darlene Martinez. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Carlye Perez, and parents, Quiciano and Rosalie Perez.
Family and friend are invited to gather May 10, 2025, between 10 and 11 AM at Boza & Roel Funeral Home, with service to follow at 11 AM.
