Ramona Alice Fernandez's Obituary
Fernandez, R. Alice (Ortabello), 86, was born on November 6, 1932 and passed away, at home, on Tuesday, December 25, 2018. As a Tampa native, Alice was baptized Catholic. She was pre-deceased by her brother, and is survived by her two (2) sisters, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, four (4) children, six (6) grandchildren, as well as, loving nieces, nephews, Godchildren, and long-time
friends.
A Tampa native, Alice attended (“the old”) Jefferson High School and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Education at the University of Tampa. While a collegiate, she pledged Zeta Tau Alpha (“ZTA”) sorority. Alice was an elementary school teacher for forty-four (44) years in Hillsborough County and a contributing member of Pan American University Women (P.A.U.W.). Alice enjoyed traveling, scrapbooking, reading (with her book club) and cheering on the Buccaneers.
Graveside services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 31, 2018 at Myrtle Hill Cemetery. Following the graveside services, the family will gather at the home of Jon and Laura Bailey (please contact immediate family members for directions).
Our Mother will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
