Mr. Philip Aloysius McNiff's Obituary
Philip Aloysius McNiff passed away peacefully on February 15, 2015 at the age of 88. He was born in Brooklyn NY, the son of Philip and Veronica McNiff on Sept 30, 1926, Phil was known for his strong work ethic and moral character. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the US Navy. He will always be remembered as a good, God-fearing man with a strong , life- long devotion to the Blessed Mother. Phil deeply loved his family and took care of them until the day he died. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Emily Iris, who passed away almost to the date one year ago and an older brother, Thomas. Survivors include a sister Veronica Broderick (Jack) and his five loving children Patricia McNiff Hughes (Ray), Philip Robert McNiff (Cindianne), Laura McNiff Daniels (Ted), Emily McNiff Darst (Ken), Jane McNiff Wenzel (Trevor) and his beloved grandchildren, David Hughes (Melissa), Carolyn Hughes Owens (Matt), Adam Daniels (Ashley), Matthew Daniels (Dahlia), Amanda McNiff Cassreino (David), Meghann McNiff Nelson (Austin), Philip Garth McNiff (Kristen), Iris Kathleen Darst Plasencia (Chris), Sarah Darst Weaving (Mike), Andrew Darst, Mary Bridget Darst, Daniel Darst, Stephen Darst, Connor Wenzel, and 13 great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Thursday , February 19, 2015 from 9:30 to 10:30AM with a Funeral Mass to follow at 10:30 AM at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 5225 N. Himes Avenue in Tampa, FL. In lieu of flowers, he encouraged for his final wishes encourage a donation to the charity of your choice.
