Petra Catala's Obituary
Petra Estrella Catala, also known as Abuelita, gracefully completed her earthly journey on August 27, 2023, at the blessed age of 88 in the City Tampa Where she called her home for the last 43 years.She was a Beloved daughter of the Hernandez family, she first breathed life into this world on January 31, 1935, in the sacred landscape of Guaynabo, Puerto Rico.
As I thought to look up her name Petra. I have found that it is also the name of a city. One of the 7 wonders of the world Renowned for its charm and ancient cultural heritage, Petra marks the achievement of an impressive civilization, the Nabataean Arabs, who perfectly carved the city into its mountains.
The name Petra comes from the word Petros Meaning Rock;
Unshakeable and resilient, Petra is a feminine name. That who so ever was the bearer of the name may be praised for their empowering strength. Far from cold, Petra reflects one who is solid and supportive, upon which a vastitude of possibilities can be built. Young Petra is not the glue that holds bonds together; they are the very foundations on which long-lasting relationships are made—and thrive.
She leaves behind a husband of 55 magnificent years From this magnificent woman we have 144 lives that were brought into this world as of date. She gave birth to 8 children who then gave her 29 Grandchildren 87 Great Grandchildren 20 Great Great Grandchildren before her passing. She was able to witness 4 generations come into this world
Abuelita epitomized the purest embodiment of love and care, radiating a gentle aura that touched the lives of those who were lucky enough to cross her path. Her fervency, passion, and deep reverence for the Lord Jesus Christ were foundational pillars of her extraordinary character. It is within the warm chambers of cherished memories that her loyal family and devoted friends will collectively recall the immense love and tenderness bestowed upon them.
In honor of Abuelita's remarkable existence, a sacred ceremony will be conducted at the hallowed grounds of the Boaz & Roel Funeral Home on the appointed day of September 9th, 2023. In harmony with deeply held beliefs, we beseech the remarkable souls whose lives she enhanced to gather and partake in a gathering that will exemplify love, harmony, and boundless gratitude for the extraordinary gift of Petra Estrella Catala.
Recognizing Abuelita's devout faith, may we humbly seek solace in prayer, peace from our Lord and reflections and endeavor to extend compassion and kindness to all of her Family and friends around us, manifesting the enduring legacy that she has left in her wake.
With gratitude for the life she lived and the unconditional love she embodied, let us bid farewell to our dear Petra Estrella Catala, our Abuelita secure in the knowledge that her soul now rests in everlasting arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
