Mr. Peter Monteleone Sr.'s Obituary
MONTELEONE, Peter, 95, passed away February, 28, 2009. Peter was loved by all those he met, and will sadly be missed. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the army from 1941 to 1945, and received a unit citation for support of the Marines during the Guadalcanal Campaign. He retired from the postal service in 1974, after 32 years. He was a member of The Sons of Italy, The Italian Club, and OLPH Catholic Church. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary, son, Peter, Jr., and brothers, Angelo, Nelson, Jimmie, and Tony. He is survived by his sister Angie Cochran, nephews, Carmelo and Jimmie Monteleone, nieces Patricia Jackson, Rebecca Siegel, and Kathy Wood. At his request, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to OLPH Catholic Church. Upon his request, graveside service with Father Thomas Stokes officiating will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, March 4 at Myrtle Hill, 4207 E Lake Ave.
