Peter M Marrero's Obituary
Peter Maria Marrero brought joy into this world the second that he was born on December 29, 1943 in Mayaguez Puerto Rico by parents Francisca Marrero and Pedro Vargas. He was the 5th out of 8 siblings. In 1948 at the age of 5 him and his family relocated to Manhattan, New York then Brooklyn shortly after. Once Peter turned 18 he joined the Military as a sharp shooter M-14 private first class E-3 which gave him the opportunity to travel to Germany and box in the army. He later married Lydia Fontanez on Nov 20,1965 and had two kids, Melissa and Peter. They later divorced and he went on to meet Carmen Fontanez and her son Christopher Ortiz in 1975. Peter married Carmen on November 18,1985 and share one daughter, Mariel Hernandez. Peter enjoyed his job selling mens retail clothing in New York and continued to do so even after he moved his family to Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 1995 where he would retire 10 years later. Peter then chose to take advantage of his retirement and went on to reside in Palm Bay, Florida from the years 2011 to 2018. It was then that he eventually moved to Tampa where he passed away on May 20, 2022.
His memory is carried on by his loving wife Carmen Marrero, and children Peter Michael Marrero (Marilyn Marrero), Melissa Urban (Anthoney Urban), Christopher Ortiz , and Mariel Hernandez (Manuel Hernandez); He will be dearly missed by his grandchildren; Christopher Castro, Arianna Robinson, Toni Lynn Urban, Jorgie Ann Urban, Nicholas Hernandez, Lucas Ortiz, Brandon Ortiz, Jonnie M Urban, Matthew Hernandez, Trinity Sabina Marrero, and Alyssa Hernandez; Great grandchildren McKenzi Castro, Mckaela Casto and Sutton Pierson. Survived by siblings Thomas Santiago, Herman Santiago (Carmen Santiago) and Anna Giron (Joseph Giron) and his many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his siblings; Reinaldo Vargas, Fenecio Vargas, Andres Vargas and great granddaughter Nadia Hernandez.
